On the 30th of March 2024, at 10:30 pm, our beautiful little boy, Theodore, was born sleeping at exactly 22 weeks, weighing just 485 grams.
From the moment we laid eyes on him, he was absolutely perfect in every single way. Our journey with Theo was cut short. After losing my mucus plug we rushed straight to the hospital. Unfortunately, due to cervical insufficiency, my labour progressed very quickly, and there was nothing the doctors could do to stop our precious boy from arriving far too soon.
In the space of a few hours, our world changed forever. We were able to spend the night and the following day with Theo in a private room, where we could simply be his mum and dad. We cuddled him, showered him with love, read him books and played music for him.
For that little while, we got to do some things we had dreamed of doing with our baby boy. Those precious hours and the memories we made with him will forever be held close to our hearts.
Although our time together was far too short, we are so grateful we got to make those memories with him.
We will always be incredibly grateful to our beautiful midwives, Kris, Bel and Asha, who cared for us with so much kindness, compassion and love. And to my best friend, Katie, Theo’s beautiful Godmother. You never left my side throughout the entire time at the hospital, holding my hand through labour & capturing precious photos of our little family. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to stand beside me, or a more beautiful Godmother for our Theo.
Theo, you will forever be our first son, our precious angel boy and a part of our family. Although we wish more than anything that your story had been different, we are so grateful that we got to be your mum and dad, even if only for a little while.
You will always be loved, always be missed and always be spoken about. Your little sister, Amelia, will grow up knowing all about her beautiful big brother and just how special you are to our family.
Mama, Dad and your little sister Amelia love you more than words could ever say.
