As the state’s largest and most diverse employer the Queensland Government understands the importance of supporting parents in the tragic circumstances of stillbirth. Our employees’ health and wellbeing is important to us and we provide both parents with equal access to paid bereavement leave and special discretionary leave. Under our paid parental leave directive, if a pregnancy ends after twenty weeks or during the period of paid maternity leave, employees continue to have access to 14 weeks paid leave. Our employees and their immediate family also have access to counselling through the government’s employee assistance providers. We’re here for our employees, so they can be here for Queensland.
