Shining a national spotlight on the silent tragedy of stillbirth.

On 27 March 2018, the Senate established the Select Committee on Stillbirth Research and Education to inquire and report on the future of stillbirth research and education in Australia. The Stillbirth Foundation:

  • Recruited families to make submissions – over 268 submissions were received;
  • Supported the committee with our own submission and testimony; and
  • Welcomed the 16 recommendations of the final report, which included many of our current focus areas of advocacy.

We wish to thank our former Stillbirth Foundation CEOs, Victoria Bowring and Kate Lynch, for their tireless work and commitment to the Senate Inquiry, as well as committee members, Chair, Senator Malarndirri McCarthy; Deputy Chair, Senator Jim Molan AO DSC; Senator Lucy Gichuhi; Senator the Hon Kristina Keneally; Senator Janet Rice; and participating member, Senator Catryna Bilyk.

You can find all the recommendations and progress report here.Â
