Partners & Supporters

The Centre for Research Excellence in Stillbirth (The Stillbirth CRE) is a national collaboration addressing the neglected tragedy of stillbirth. Through a priority driven program, the Stillbirth CRE aims to reduce the rate of stillbirth and improve care for parents and families whose baby is stillborn.

Partnership with the Stillbirth Foundation Australia and other stillbirth advocacy and support organisations will ensure that parents are heard and the CRE program meets their needs.

The Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand (PSANZ) is a multidisciplinary society dedicated to improving the health and long term outcomes for mothers and their babies. PSANZ encompasses and strongly encourages research focused on mothers and babies during pregnancy and at birth as well as the health of the newborn as its development continues after birth.

Sands are a self-help support group comprised of parents who have experienced the death of a baby. Sands Australia’s core mission is to facilitate the provision of consistently high national standards of bereavement support, education, information and communications, administered by local organisations and with a local approach.

The Bears of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support provides leading support and exceptional care for families who experience the loss of their baby, providing crucial information and guidance during their difficult time of loss and beyond.

Still Aware are committed to raising awareness of the very real statistics of stillbirth in Australia, working to end preventable stillbirth. Still Aware educate clinicians, mothers and families about stillbirth prevention and promote open communication.

SIDS and Kids is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and supporting bereaved families. SIDS and kids services include counselling, a range of support groups, peer support, 24 hour freecall Bereavement Support line and an extensive range of bereavement support literature.

Heartfelt is a volunteer organisation of professional photographers from all over Australia dedicated to giving the gift of photographic memories to families that have experienced stillbirth. This free service is provided across Australia and can be requested by calling 1800 583 768.

Pillars of Strength provides timeout and support for Bereaved Dads and for Dads with ill children in hospital.

Pregnant…looking for support, understanding and friendship? Social workers Deb de Wilde and Belinda Power welcome you to the Pregnancy After Loss (PAL) group which meets on a regular basis in North Sydney. All enquiries to Deb at peterbarr@bigpond.com or 0412 514 996

Angel Gowns Australia lovingly hand craft Angel Gown garments from donated wedding dresses, which are then donated to hospitals, funeral homes and directly to families through special orders.

The Sydney 2 CAMberra Charity Ride was created after a young Sydney couple lost their son Cameron through stillbirth. In recognition of Cameron, the ride aims to raise significant funds, awareness and support of families affected by stillbirth and SIDS.

Joy Hope Love is a life coaching service especially designed to support parents who have experienced the loss of a baby and who want to honour their child by confidently living their best life; one that is full of joy, hope and love and legacy.

If some time has passed since your loss, and you are feeling ready to make a change in your life, then coaching could be the answer.  Joy Hope Love takes a heart-centred and values based approach to coaching, ensuring you are supported in creating the life you desire; whether it be a new purpose-driven career, a legacy for your children or a life that you unapologetically love and live fully.

The coaching practice is run by certified life coach, consultant, writer, speaker and bereaved mother Rowena Mabbott.

Rowena is passionate about raising awareness of stillbirth around the world. As well as providing individual coaching, Rowena also works with organisations and businesses to improve the support provided by employers to bereaved parent employees.

My Grief Assist is a site that provides a broad range of helpful information on loss and grief. The site aims to bring practical, contemporary information in the form of easy to read factsheets, book lists, videos and links to support services.

The information is accessible and relevant for the bereaved and people who love and wish to support them.
